Policy guidance for green development, gradual improvement of recycling and utilization system

With the promotion of the national "dual carbon" target and the deepening of plastic pollution control policies, the plastic hinge container industry is accelerating its transformation towards green. The Action Plan for Plastic Pollution Control during the 14th Five Year Plan period clearly states that by 2025, the proportion of recyclable, easily recyclable, and biodegradable plastic packaging products needs to be significantly increased, forcing enterprises to optimize product design and material selection. At present, 68% of enterprises in the industry use recyclable materials to produce hinge containers, of which the application of recycled PP materials accounts for 25%, an increase of 18 percentage points from 2020.
In terms of the construction of the recycling system, some regions have piloted the "production enterprise responsible for recycling" model. Leading enterprises have joined forces with third-party recycling agencies to set up dedicated recycling bins in supermarkets and communities, and carry out classified recycling for plastic hinge containers. By 2025, the recycling rate of plastic hinge containers is expected to reach 30%, an increase of 12 percentage points from 2020. At the same time, progress has been made in the research and development of biodegradable plastic hinge containers, and products made from PBAT+PLA have entered the stage of small-scale trial production. The trial feedback in fresh food, takeaway and other scenarios is good, and they are expected to become an important supplement to traditional plastic containers in the future.
