Disposable lunch boxes are single use containers designed to meet the needs of convenient dining, widely used in scenarios such as food delivery, outdoor picnics, and in restaurant food packaging. Its development has gone through three generations of iterations: in the early days, expanded polystyrene (EPS) was the core, but it was gradually phased out due to the release of harmful substances at high temperatures and its difficulty in degradation; Transitioning to ordinary plastics (PP/PS), paper and other materials in the mid-term has solved basic safety issues but lacks environmental friendliness; At present, it has entered the dominant stage of biodegradable materials, achieving a balance between practicality and environmental protection through biobased materials and advanced processes, becoming the mainstream direction of the industry.
PP polypropylene: a mainstream food grade material with a temperature resistance range of -6 ℃ to 120 ℃. It can be microwave heated and steam cooked, and has a flexible texture that is not easily deformed. It is suitable for holding hot rice and dishes. Modified PP can be extended to -18 ℃ to 110 ℃, meeting the needs of refrigeration.
PS polystyrene: high hardness and transparency, excellent low-temperature performance (suitable for ice cream packaging), but it is prone to softening above 75 ℃ and cannot be used for hot food storage. It is often used as a lid for lunch boxes with PP box bodies.
